Tips on How to Clean Your Phone Properly

Phones are covered in more germs than a person can expect. A study completed in 2017 of 27 different cell phones found a high median bacterial count on secondary school students’ mobile phones and a median of 17,032 bacterial gene copies per phone. To clean your phone follow the below steps at least 3 times a week to help keep your self a little bit cleaner.

• Take your phone out of its cloth and power it down.
• A micro fiber cloth is a good way to clean off dust and finger prints on a daily basis.
• Disinfectant wipes are safe to use on phone screens, but there are household chemicals you need to avoid when cleaning your phone. Don't use anything with harsh chemicals such as bleach or anything with the words "scrubbing power" on it. Lysol wipes are the best to use.
• When wiping the phone with the Lysol wipes make sure to not get the phone to wet and stay away from all ports for plug ins.
• Let the phone air dry for 3 - 5 minutes.
• Wipe down with again with a different microfiber cloth.
• Follow the above steps to clean the phone case as well.
