Halton BFI Canadian Breastfeeding Week 2019 Nature Hike

October 4, 2019  Robert Edmonson Conservation Area  10am - 1pm

Celebrate Canadian Breastfeeding Week with us at this FREE event! We're looking forward to celebrating Canadian Breastfeeding Week from October 1st to 7th! This year's CBW theme, as chosen by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), is Empower Parents: Enable Breastfeeding. We are celebrating with a nature hike at Robert Edmondson Conservation Area in Milton! Halton BFI invites families to join us for a guided nature hike at Robert Edmondson Conservation Area. Entrance to the park is free for the day. This event is sponsored by Halton BFI and Olinah Metals Inc. We encourage participants to wear your baby in a carrier if possible. The hike is stroller-accessible but it may be easier using a baby carrier. The hike is a loop, and there are short and long versions. You can hike 1.5 kms (about 30 mins) or 2.3 kms (about 45 mins), depending on your interest. After the hike, we will meet back for some light snacks and awesome door prizes including Conservation Halton Parks day passes!


Springridge Harvest Festival

Weekends October 5 - 27, 2019  Springridge Farm  10am - 4pm

Admission to Harvest Festival: $13.00 (includes HST) per person, ages 2-92. There is no charge to visit the farm market, bakery and gift shop.  Harvest Festival activities include: A Professional Puppet Show (Show Times: 11, 12, 1, 2:30 & 4), Wagon Ride to the 5-acre Corn Trail, Spooky Boo Barn, Spider Web Climber, Farm Yard Pipe Slides, Access to The Fun Farm Yard: Animal Barn,  Giant Sandbox, Corn Trail, Tube Slides, Straw Bale Jumping and Escarpment Lookout, Singing Chicken Show, Goat Mountain. Pony Rides are available for an additional $5 per ride. Maximum weight 80lbs. The Springridge Farm BBQ Barn is open for Harvest Festival. Menu items include grilled-to-perfection hotdogs, sausages, corn on the cob, apple chips and the Little Farmer Lunch combo for kids. Visit the Barn Market for fall décor, farm fresh baking, pies, apples and apple cider.


Hops & Harvest 2019

October 5 - 6, 2019  Kelso Conservation Area  11am - 5pm

Hops & Harvest is an autumn festival that features breweries, food vendors, and artisans while celebrating the great outdoors, providing a unique opportunity to hike the trails, admire the scenery and enjoy craft brews and seasonal eats.

Adults (19+): $10
Children (5-18): $6
(includes entry to park and event)

Purchase advance tickets before Thursday, October 3 to receive one beer glass, one beer token and a chairlift ride. (Children will only receive the chairlift ride.)  This event is FREE for Halton Parks members but members still need to register in advance to get the beer glass, beer token and chairlift ride.

Autumn Oasis Retreat

Junior Bricks Challenge (Guardian & Child) at Milton Mall

Sundays Beginning October 6, 2019  Milton Mall 11am - 11:45am

This fun and unique program is for young kids in preschool, daycare and kindergarten (ages 4-6). The Junior Bricks Challenge program incorporates tactile, motor, and spatial skills while introducing science and engineering principles using LEGO® building blocks. Ages: 4-6 (Pre-school) Program Subjects Include: Physics Principles: Basic principles such as balance, Geometry: Characteristics of basic geometric shapes, Transportation and Traffic Safety: Understanding different types of vehicles including motorcycles, trucks, cars and boats

Bricks Challenge at Milton Mall (Sundays) - Amusement Park

Sundays Beginning October 6, 2019  Milton Mall 12pm - 1:15pm

The Bricks Challenge program introduces elementary school children (ages 6-10) to the basic principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By integrating basic arithmetic learned in school with an intuitive active learning process, children grasp a better understanding of the fundamentals of physics and engineering concepts.  Ages: 6-10  Program Subjects Include: Basic and complex mathematics: Instructors teach basic math, from addition and subtraction to exponents, Famous scientific and philosophical figures: Archimedes, Sir Isaac Newton, Einstein, and more, Powers and principles in physics: Centrifugal and centripetal forces, the power of inertia, potential energy, kinetic energy, action/reaction law, buoyancy, torque, fulcrum, load division, angular momentum, and more.

Bruce Trail Day

October 6, 2019  Cityview Park Burlington  10am - 2pm

Come out and learn about The Bruce Trail Conservancy and join a free hike! Hikes leave at 10 am, 11 am, noon and 1 pm. Prizes for each of the four hikes. The 11 am hike will have Bay Area Restoration Council leading and talking about water quality and how the streams running off the niagara escarpment Vendors and organizations will have tents. 100 Women Who Care Milton - 4th Annual Meeting 2019

What if you could be a part of a group of women that aims to raise $10,000 for a Milton based charity in under an hour?  It's simple: We meet. We connect. We vote. We donate. PLEASE JOIN US for the 100 Women Who Care Milton 2019 4th Meeting!  Founded in 2016, 100 Women Who Care Milton is one of more than 400 chapters worldwide that focus on coordinating funding for local, community charitable organizations. We gather at quarterly meetings to hear three short presentations on local non-profits in need... members vote, and each write a check for $100 directly to the awarded charity for a collective, impactful donation. The group is run entirely by volunteers with no administrative fees solicited from members.


PA Day at Cirque du Play (Milton)

Calling all master builders and coders! Students will learn physics and science while building a motorized LEGO® model during this fun and educational PA DAY Camp. Additional activities include science experiments, STEM crafts and/or coding lessons. Recommended for ages 4-12


MVP Hockey October 11 PD Day Camp

October 11, 2019  Milton Sports Center  8:30am - 11:30am

These sessions will be fast paced and will push kids to work hard. Players will quickly progress from basic skills into game situational and battle drills, with similarly skilled players. We will work through stations devoted to skating and edge work, puck control, passing and shooting, and then onto races and battling. We will end with a 45min scrimmage.

Tiny Tots Trick or Treat in Downtown Milton 2019

Celebrate Halloween in Downtown Milton! Children (and their parents) are invited to wear their costumes and collect goodies at participating businesses. There will be fun activities, lots of treats, popular characters, and more! Main Street East will be closed to vehicles between Martin Street and James Street for the event. This event is organized by the Downtown Milton BIA.


Halloween Spooktacular

October 26, 2019  Halton County Radial Railway  6:30pm - 10pm

All ages event! Walk through the haunted car barn and travel in the old, creaky streetcars along the mainline and enjoy some hot apple cider & scary snacks. If you’re a Halloween fan this is definitely a spooky experience not to be missed! Costumes encouraged. Reservations not required. Tickets sold at the door. Last car ride departs Rockwood Station at 9:20pm.


Masquerade on Main & Mill 2019

October 26, 2019  Downtown Georgetown  11am - 1pm

Hundreds of children, accompanied by their parents, enjoy Downtown Georgetown for a trick or treat event. Children are entertained by street entertainers, while visiting each business to ask for treats! Main Street is closed during this event offering a fun-filled and safe trick or treating environment, all within the historic setting of Downtown Georgetown! Come Mill around Main.


Treats in our Streets

Celebrate Halloween at our wildly popular FREE trick-or-treating event! Families are welcomed by businesses to trick-or-treat in costume throughout the downtown, collecting goodies at participating downtown businesses. Treating stops are highlighted on maps provided, featuring businesses and activities along the way! Our volunteers will also be on the look out for best costume to win a grand prize! This event is rain or shine and while supplies last.


Gourmet And Spirits

October 29, 2019  La Toscan Ristorante  7pm

Join us for an evening of haunting intrigue! Led by John McDonald, our local historian, the evening will start at Town Hall where we will learn of the Milton hangings... do the spirits of the accused still wander the grounds of the old jail? We then transition to La Toscana Restaurant (formerly the 1864 Thompson Hotel) for dinner, drinks, and more stories that will send shivers down your spine!  The cost for the evening is $75. Limited space is available so please register online at (under Special Interest Programs) or in person at Waldie's Blacksmith Shop, 16 James Street, on Wednesdays or Saturdays between 9:30am and noon.


Team Garber's Charity Haunted House

Halloween yard display, haunted driveway maze and garage walk through raising money and awareness for The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Every year we decorate our home and build a maze on our driveway filled with zombies,skeletons, corpses,animatronics and live actors who will you chills down your spine. Money collected on Team Garber's Charity Haunted House Facebook page and at the door. Come out Halloween night from 4-10pm. Donate money to help fright kidney disease
