Community Events, Fundraisers and Family Activities in Milton and Halton Region for December 2019

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. There are a number of events in the Halton region to help celebrate the holidays and some great shopping too!

Christmas on the Farm

Various Dates Beginning November 23  Springridge Farm  10am - 3pm

Join us at the farm as we celebrate the season with Christmas on the Farm. Families will enjoy visiting during the holiday season as we deck the halls and trim the tree in anticipation of Santa’s arrival at Springridge Farm. Santa's Workshop is located upstairs in the Springridge barn and includes two festive activities for children to enjoy. Each child will have the opportunity to paint a glass ornament to bring home to adorn your Christmas tree and will decorate a freshly baked gingerbread cookie. The jolly old man in red will be on hand greeting families and posing for Christmas photos with Santa. There is no admission charge to visit the barn market, bakery & gift shop. The Springridge café and bakery are open for the Christmas on the Farm with our regular menu including seasonal favorites like the turkey sandwich and mincemeat tarts. 

 

Client Appreciation Christmas Party!

December 1, 2019  Vin Bon Milton  1pm - 4pm

We appreciate our clients, colleagues and their families! To show our appreciation we will be hosting a FREE event at Vin Bon in Milton! We will have: Complimentary Wine Tasting, Snacks, Gingerbread Cookie Decorating, FREE professional family photos by Photoworks!, A FREE bottle of wine for the first 100 families. We will also be collecting food donations for Food4Kids Halton! RSVPs are encouraged but not necessary!

 

Light up the Hills Ignition!

December 1, 2019  Various Locations  5:30pm - 9pm

A magical night when everyone comes together to "Light Up" our parks and celebrate the season in our 3 different locations in Halton Hills.

1. Georgetown - Dominion Gardens Park in (beside CtK), starts at 5:30 - the largest festival with large light up displays, free hot chocolate and cookies, free hot dogs, entertainment, Santa, outdoor movie, plus much, more more!

2. Acton - Sports Park on Hwy 7 beside Acton Arena, starts at 5:30pm. A beautiful community gathering with entertainment, free hot chocolate and cookies and Santa!

3. Glen Williams - Shelagh Law Parkette, starts at 6:00pm. A smaller, intimate event. Songs are song around the "Tree of Hope" at the Park and tree lights up at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to go to the Glen Williams Town Hall for food and drinks after.

All of these events are free! And it couldn't be possible without all of the Support from the community!

 

HoliDIY Downtown Milton

It’s the busiest time of the year but we three Downtown Milton neighbours wanted to work together to bring an event full of fun and community spirit. We are so happy we found dates for the first ever “Which Craft Downtown Milton” that is now fully booked, thank you!! We can’t wait to see and create with everyone. We have now listed ahead of schedule by request our “HoliDIY Downtown Milton”...same idea with 3 locations & projects. We will post samples but have eager guests securing spots ahead of our schedule

 

Children’s Christmas Party 2019

December 1, 2019  Millcroft Golf Club  12:30pm - 3pm 

Enjoy photos with Santa, making your own sundae, decorating gingerbread man cookies, and lots of fun & games! Disney princesses and Superheroes will be visiting us as well. This is an open event for everyone who wants to attend.  Please register on our website and bring non-perishable food item(s) which will be donated to the Burlington Food Bank.

A Mompreneurs Christmas at the Brewery

Come and join Mompreneur members and guests for a fun networking social at Orange Snail Brewers to kick off the holiday season! We'll enjoy light refreshments, Orange Snail craft beer on tap (for purchase), fun networking games, and a Secret Santa gift exchange - all are welcome to attend! We are asking all attendees to bring a wrapped item for gift exchange ($10 value). We will be donating a portion of the evening's proceeds to Halton Women's Place, so any additional items you would like to donate are greatly welcomed and appreciated!

 

Christmas in the Safety Village

Winter Lights at the Rock Garden

Downtown Milton HolidayFest

Celebrate the holidays in Downtown Milton! Visit Santa, shop for unique gifts, enjoy some holiday tunes, fantastic dining, and more. Stop by our welcome centres at Martin and James St. on your way in for Christmas- themed kids activities, a layout of the festival and information on the Elf Scavenger Hunt. Some of Santa’s elves have gone missing and have been spotted shopping in Downtown Milton. Visit the shops in Downtown Milton and spot one of the elves and record it on your card. You’ll get one entry into a draw for each elf that you find. Drop off your cards at one of the Welcome Centres for a chance to win a $150 Gift Card to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Grab your sticks and celebrate the holidays, Canadian-style, with an outdoor game of ball hockey. The Milton Winterhawks will be raising funds for the Townsend-Smith Foundation and the Milton Minor Novice Blue Team.

 

Christmas on the Rails

Ride into the holiday season with us! We’re opening our doors one last time until the spring for a unique seasonal experience. There’s nothing like riding the rails through the woods with snow on the trees and Christmas carols in the air and a visit from Santa! Tickets sold at the door.

 

Holiday Magic 2019

December 7, 2019  Downtown Georgetown  3pm - 8pm

Ring in the Holiday Season in Downtown Georgetown at the DGBIA's annual Holiday Magic. Snuggle up under the twinkle light tents & enjoy the best flavours of the season with hot chocolate, apple cider, freshly pulled maple taffy and many more tasty treats from our participating downtown businesses. This year's Holiday Magic will see the return of the Holiday Market along Main Street and at the Knox Presbyterian Church (116 Main Street S). The Market will feature local craft and food vendors, as well as a seasonal selection from the farmers market. Enjoy a traditional horse & wagon ride through the historic Downtown Georgetown setting as it lights up for Christmas!

Miracle on Main

The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation's (TJSF) Miracle on Main initiative has raised millions through donations and sponsorships for underprivileged families, McMaster Children’s Hospital, SickKids, Salvation Army, Halton Women’s Place, local charities and school boards. FREE ADMISSION with a donation of a new unwrapped toy! Last year, Halton Regional Police Services Toys for Tots merged into TJSF’s Miracle on Main Street and this year an exciting partnership will be formed with Peel Regional Police Toys for Tots and Cram the Cruiser in hope of supporting more families than ever before.

Kids' Club December 2019

This month the Milton Mall Monkey Kids' Club will be treated to a festive craft and a visit with Santa!  Supplies are limited for the first 200 children. Kids' Club is free of charge for children ages 4-12, and they must be accompanied by an adult.

 

44th Annual Campbellville Country Christmas Parade

December 15, 2019  Guelph Line and Crawford Cres  1:30pm - 3:30pm

Santa is coming to town! We believe this event to be the true heart of the season. This rural parade is very much a community endeavour. Floats come from local businesses, community groups and local households! This local community event is organized and run by the volunteers of the Campbellville Parade Committee, under the umbrella of the Campbellville Community Association (DCCA). Children and parents will be able to meet Santa and his elves after the parade at St David’s Church - where gifts, hot drinks and snacks will be available.

 

6th Annual Clydesdale Christmas

Victorian Christmas

Various Dates Beginning December 27, 2019  Bronte Creek Provincial Park  10am - 4pm

A special treat awaits you and your family - once the hustle and bustle of the day is over and you have time to relax and enjoy the school holiday with your family. Step back in time to 1899 to see how an early settler family celebrated the season. You will learn about why and how some of the traditions started and continue to this day. There will be house tours, crafts, refreshments, music and story time. Plan to spend around 2 hours enjoying all the activities. No additional charge to participate -- after purchase of park daily vehicle permit. Food and beverages are extra. This event is supported by the Friends of Bronte Creek Park.
