Alternatives to Candy for Halloween Treats

Have you heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project? This project was started to help protect our children who have life threatening food allergies. So what can you hand out as an alternative to candy on Halloween night?

Kids don't need to have candy on Halloween night. As fun as it is to eat, it can cause issues for kids with allergies and a big dentist bill;) Here are some fun ideas to hand out that will be more fun than candy and they will last a lot longer too!

  1. Gift Cards (swim/skate pass from local community centre, ice cream, restaurants)
  2. Bubbles
  3. Glow sticks, necklaces, wands, glasses
  4. Stickers
  5. Pencils
  6. Fake/plastic bugs
  7. Mini crayon packs
  8. Mini Play-Doh
  9. Hair bows, barrettes, clips
  10. Erasers
  11. Mini slinkies

  14. Temporary tattoos (Halloween themed or popular characters)
  15. Spider rings
  16. Mini bottles of water

  21. Mini rubber stamps
  22. Mini water squirt guns

Feel free to share your ideas and don't forget to put out a teal pumpkin if you are not handing out candy so kids with allergies know that your home is not handing out any candy or other food items.
